FAQ's

Epidemiology staff collaborates with all Communicable Disease Division programs as well as other Department of Community Health Division, including; Environmental Health, the Public Health Laboratory, and the Nursing Outreach Division for communicable disease related:

  • Investigations
  • Education
  • Prevention
  • Control measures

The Epidemiology Staff also responds to inquiries from the public and other agencies regarding communicable disease issues and Epidemiology.

Information on Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)

 

Under Title 17, California Code of Regulation, Section 2500 (Division 1, Chapter 4, Article 1), all health care providers knowing of or in attendance on a case or suspected case of any communicable disease or condition must report to the local health officer for the jurisdiction where the patient resides.

To report a communicable disease or condition, please fill out the Confidential Morbidity Report form and fax it to (559) 445-3535.
