What does it cost to obtain mental health services?
Fresno County Mental Health Department uses the State of California UMDAP (State of California legislated formula) mandated calculation to determine residents' ability to participate financially in payment for services. In some cases there is a share of cost for which the consumer is responsible. Generally, the share of cost is a minimal amount. Additionally, MediCal (State of California Medicaid program) reimburses the county directly for services provided to residents. What, if any, groups does Community Mental Health Outreach offer?
Therapy groups, which are led by trained clinicians, deal with a variety of issues of emotional trauma. A clinical determination is made about a particular consumer's appropriateness to participate in these therapy groups. In addition, there are peer support groups, which offer consumers an opportunity to provide each other social support and the hope needed to continue the work toward emotional recovery and stability. Peer support groups are offered at the Fine Street office, E. Kings Canyon Road clinic, and the Mental Health Association office on Olive Avenue at Calaveras in Fresno. Social support groups are also available in Reedley, Sanger, Orange Cove, and Selma. Please go to Regional Services for more detail. How do I obtain outpatient services? Consumers may call our offices to inquire specifically into what services they believe they need or describe their difficulty for a description of options available either within or outside our agency in the community. A fully-trained professional staff member will assist you in exploring what services may best provide you with the care you require. Often a telephone call is all that is needed to determine what is appropriate for your needs. In addition, this same staff is also available at any of our clinic offices for assessment and referral for further care.
