A: A consumer is someone who is receiving County services. Consumers are also known as clients or patients.
Q: "How much do mental health services through the County cost?"
A: When you come in for services, our eligibility staff can help determined your cost. Medi-Cal is accepted.
Q.: "I don't live in Fresno, I live in the rural part of the county. How do I get mental health services?"
A: The Department of Adult Services provides mental health services in 12 rural areas. For services in Pinedale or Auberry, call (559) 436-0482. For services in Sanger, Orange Cove, Parlier or Reedley, call (559) 875-7705. For services in Selma, call (559) 898-5100. For services in Kerman or Firebaugh, call (559) 846-7500. For services in Coalinga, Huron or the West Fresno metropolitan area, call (559) 488-3927.
Q: "I'm interested in finding out more about your therapy groups, what can you tell me?"
A. The Department of Adult Services offers a wide range of therapy groups. Therapy groups, led by trained professionals, deal with a variety of issues of emotional trauma. Medical staff determine the appropriateness to participate in these groups. In addition, there are peer support groups that offer consumers an opportunity to provide each other social support while on the way to emotional recovery and stability.
